Macedonia: Police blockade student parliament following Student Union President election

Clashes erupted between riot police and protesters in front of the Student Parliament at the University Ss. Kiril and Metodij (SPUKIM), in Skopje.

A large number of police officers arrived at the entrance of the student union and forced students out of the building. Some of the students barricaded themselves in the building, attempting to block the police from entering. Protesters chanted slogans such as ‘Disgrace’ and ‘Stop police brutality” while trying to breach the blockade that the police had implemented.
